Life, lately

Woah. I am not sure I have ever had a dry spell this long. Part of this blogging break has been nice, but I really do miss having this outlet. So here goes nothing... gonna try and be a blogger again. It starts with a brutally honest post.

Lately most days I am feeling like I am a failure at life. With the exception of my photography clients I'll bet if you asked folks in my life they would tell you I am not my normal self. Moody, distracted, rushed, and some serious life procrastination. I've got so much on my plate and it's going to be that way for another few weeks. I know I will get through it, just like I did last year. I have 3 session weekends left and 3 newborns before the end of the year. I am thankful everyday for a husband that is SUCH a good dad. I mean really. He's basically been a single dad on a weekend day every weekend for months. This weekend they went on a drizzly hike with the pup. This kid kills me with that smile.

I have been trying to be very present when I am not out working. We've been spending lots of time playing dress up (always ninjas or superheros), speech games on my new ipad mini, and lots of love and kisses for my sweet boy. I know he misses me when I am out working, but I remind myself it's all for him really. The nice part about this busy season ending in December is I am super slow for the 4 months or so following the madness. Light at the end of the tunnel.

I've been thinking long and hard about whether I want to do photography full time, and the more I think about it the more I am leaning towards "yes". It's not an overnight decision but one we've put on the table to figure out if it's feasible. If there's one thing I am it's thorough and decisive. If I am not REALLY SURE it could work then I won't do it. That mentality is a blessing and a curse. As my husband has told me "sometimes you just gotta believe in yourself and take a leap".

We have a visit from my Sister -in law and her family for Thanksgiving to plan for which has been a good excuse to finish up some projects around the house. This weekend we installed shelves above the buffet and I love it so much. Those damn Ikea shelves are not as easy as they look to get on right. Some adult words were thrown around for sure. hubs and I kept out cool though and I am glad we did. Looks great huh?

Don't worry I re-hung the pic somewhere else in the house! Love that thing.

I'll be back sooner rather than later. If you wanna follow along daily I suggest Instagram!

  1. I love the shelves! I especially love the glasses underneath. So cute.
